When it came down to selecting a location for the wedding, Jana and Josh were torn between two absolutely amazing venue options: a family estate tucked away in the hills above downtown Honolulu that featured breathtaking views of the island or their beachside family home on the island's south shore that featured a gorgeous lawn just steps from the water's edge. In the end, they decided to share the best of both worlds with their guests, from the mountains to the sea in a unique celebration that started in the hills and ended in a fabulous evening of dinner and dancing at the ocean's edge.
Stunning views from both the ceremony and reception combined with unique event design made these already gorgeous locations even more amazing.
The Event Design
Jana had her heart set on a rustic affair, with a twist of modern, full of lovely little details that screamed bold, beautiful color. In collaboration with event designer, Christina Farrow of Pacific Aisles, and floral designer, Yvonne Chapman of Yvonne Design, Jana designed a wedding that infused some favorites from her very own custom designed collection of textile prints. These gorgeous designs featured island inspired motifs and also included block style prints of the family homes that would host the ceremony and reception. Jana's colorful designs were threaded everywhere into the event design, appearing everywhere from the letterpressed invitations to the lounge throw pillows to the custom designed escort cards. Even guest placesettings at every dining table were styled with beautiful napkins sewn by the Mother of the Bride, fashioned from custom fabric printed with Jana's designs.
