Taylor and Matthew have vacationed many times in Abaco, Bahamas. They loved it so much they chose to get married there on a beautiful spring day at the Hope Town Harbour Lodge (which sadly is no longer there due to Hurricane Dorian). They chose this lodge because of the gorgeous coral reefs and white sandy beaches.
The couple's inspiration for the wedding was boho-chic with nudes, greens, pinks, and oranges. They used palm leaves, pineapples, and tropical flowers to invite guests in and get the true Bohemian experience. The beach was glistening without adding any extra décor so Taylor and Matthew went with a minimalist theme, letting the flowers be the only pop of color.
For the reception, the newlyweds booked a Junkanoo (a street parade with music, dancing, and costumes)—a classic staple of the Bahamas dating back to the 17th century. "We had the dancers come over to our island to perform for our guests during the cocktail hour and then led the guests down to the reception site that was right on the beach. It was such a fun and entertaining experience that our guests will remember forever," said Taylor.
