For their destination wedding, Kristi and Mike had always envisioned a tropical wedding that would highlight the beauty of the Hawaiian islands. So when they decided on tying the knot at the Loulu Palm Estate on Oahu's North Shore, they set out to plan their perfect wedding. With a clean, modern and tropical beach chic wedding in mind, they decided on a beautiful palette that included natural tones, slate and varied shades of orange along with sweet custom details.
Along with event planner, Christina Farrowof Pacific Aisles, they design an event that was inspired by the very islands the couple once called home. Striking floral arrangements set on bamboo maypoles lined the ceremony aisle that overlooked the secluded beach tucked away on Oahu's North Shore. Custom ti leaf cones filled with pale orange rose petals were set at each chair for guests to toss at the end of the ceremony. Kristi wore a stunning white Paloma Blanca and carried a gorgeous bouquet filled with mokara and cymbidium orchids, roses, ranunculus, dahlias and pincushion protea, all tied together with bamboo greens and finished with natural twine.
Guests dined on gourmet fare and danced the night away under a clear top tent. Soft white fabric added a touch of elegance, and the combination of beautifully lit capiz chandeliers and patterned lights over the white dance floor created a romantic ambiance. Tables set with natural tones of beige, ivory and white with a touch of exotic wood provided the perfect muted palette for vibrant centerpieces. An array of orange mokara orchids, cymbidium orchids, pincushion protea and roses filled beautiful floral arrangements by Michelle Maeda of Flowergirls Hawaii. Delicate ceramic starfish, handmade by a family friend, adorned each place setting and served not only as place cards, but also as beautiful keepsakes for guests to take home at the end of the night.
