Many of today's common wedding traditions ("something blue," throwing rice, tiered cakes, garter) began during the Renaissance Age, a time hallmarked by works of Michelangelo, Donatello, Botticelli and da Vinci. Inspired by the romance of this era and her own passion for art, fashion, history and Italy, Vanessa Van Wieren of Alchemy Fine Events & Invitations encompassed every aspect of the time period in this impeccable styled shoot.
While the Renaissance is traditionally associated with dark jewel tones and structure, this interpretation is rather soft and delicate, inspired by the work of Botticelli. Two brides wear romantic Allyson Simone gowns, complete with angel wings and jeweled headpieces, and bask in the scene as they await the return of their grooms. Set at that breathtaking Orfila Winery in San Pascual Valley is a luxurious lounge dining space and rustic spread. It's an enchanting combination of vintage pieces, soft-colored furniture and glassware, a home-style dessert display and lots of patterns and prints in rugs, tableware and stationery. Dramatic statements are made in amazing arrangements of foliage and blooms by Isari Flower Studio + Event Design, complemented by tapered candles atop vintage tables. It's a complete fairytale still life captured by Luna Photo.
