East Coast couple Sarah and Brian knew they wanted to tie the knot near the beach, and searched high-and-low before selecting the unparalleled Martin Johnson House in La Jolla for their intimate wedding. The couple, inspired by their passion for food and family, wanted to create an elevated backyard summer party, so they worked with First Comes Love Weddings & Events and Isari Flower Studio + Event Design to make their West Coast wedding vision a reality.
Their breath-taking ceremony, anchored by gorgeous displays of colorful flowers and oversized lanterns was followed by a tasty cocktail hour featuring a "grazing station" with an incredible fruit and cheese display mounted on wine barrels, and New England-inspired seafood fare, a nod to the groom's hometown. A personalized "Mr. and Mrs." fun-loving game of cornhole was set up on the lawn. Bright blooms (including peonies, dahlias, garden roses, pincushion proteas, and succulents) and lace runners dressed wooden farm tables, adding charm and refinement to the rustic setting. The menu was arguably the couple's favorite element to plan, and guests were treated to a tasty trio of pork and macaroni and cheese for dinner by Coast Catering, followed by a delicious array of sweets from Elizabethan Desserts. The ever-so-talented lens of Joielala captured the memorable day.
