Few things provide greater inspiration than a great American love poem. For this outdoor styled shoot, planner and event designer Christy Snowie Cowan of Southern California based To La Lune found the core inspiration penned by Walt Whitman: "Day by day and night by night we were together,—All else has long been forgotten by me.” The story, photographed by Amy Carlston, celebrates a couple that is so deeply in love in a setting that is vintage, organic, exquisite and absolutely gorgeous.
The intimate wedding ceremony is set at an delicately draped oak tree at Hidden Oaks Private Wedding and Events nestled in Ramona, California. The bride was beautiful in a vintage-inspired gown and of course, flowers in her hair, while the groom wore a modern patterned shirt and a vest and tie for an updated look. Floral arrangements by Plenty of Petals featured fantastic blooms including ranunculus, garden roses and proteas. Stationery by Lovely Paper Things included refined rustic design, including kraft envelopes, deep purple envelopes, a watercolor motif and menus mounted on wood with a luxe wax seal. An elegant champagne tower display featured unique crystal coupes, while the rustic farm reception table was topped with vintage gold in candlesticks and flatware, and crystal and colored glass, and unique white dishes. A beautiful dessert table with eye-catching delicacies, including macarons, cupcakes and a fresh flower-topped cake, completed the perfect love story.
