Fall in the Eastern Townships (right outside Montreal, Canada) are absolutely beautiful. With mountains known for their ski hills, lush landscapes and, most of all, for their change of colours in the fall, it was the perfect canvas for this fall wedding inspiration.
What started out as your typical blush toned creative shoot very quickly became “Let’s step outside the box - Let’s Shine”. We wanted to be a little edgy in our colours, especially given the styled shoot was shot in the fall. The black gown is what inspired us to move in the gold, black, mint and peach tones. With a black gown and this colour palette, we needed something that had a bit of a dramatic look (the stones, the vast hills and tree lines)but that still showcased what the Eastern-Townships are. Isabella from Ella Photography had shot a wedding there once and wanted to ensure that we used a location that couples could actually use as their wedding venue. It was perfect. The dishes, cutlery, and glasses are vintage from my mother. I’ve always wanted to use them and this was my chance.
My favorite detail from this shoot? Aside from the dishes, cutlery, and glasses that are vintage and from my mother (I’ve always wanted to use them and this was my chance.), the black dress! I love how great it looks with the gold and the colour of the trees. I also love the creative way Geneviève from O.xide Design incorporated black in the florals.
