If you know us well by now, you know that food is one of our favorite things in the world! We're always excited to try new things and find those hidden gems in Cabo that make us appreciate this paradise we live in! We're happy to share part of our lives via our favorite food spots in both towns so you get the chance to enjoy a more local and authentic experience during your wedding weekend or in your future vacations in Cabo. We hope that you and your guests enjoy it! Buen provecho!

CABO SAN LUCAS

Koi Sushi- Japanese/Asian fusion restaurant.

It's one of our favorite sushi places for their wide variety of sushi (vegan and vegetarian options too), fresh seafood, and originality in the dishes. It can compete with Nick San but with better prices!

Don't feel discouraged by the fact that is located in the Walmart food court and we must warn you that service is not their strength but it's definitely worth going to.

VO team's recommendations: Chuy Sashimi, the fish salad. For rolls, ask for the chef’s specials, not on the menu, or the McQueen (no rice) or the Diego.

Chubby noodle- A San Francisco restaurant now with a new location in Cabo. They offer an Asian fusion menu, from noodles to seafood where everything is served family-style. This restaurant closes very late so it's the perfect option as late night food after a night out.

Drunken Sailor - One of our favorite places! After a long week, we enjoy heading out there to have a chilled evening and watch the sunset while having a drink. The restaurant is very small and it has a palapa with very few tables so we like that it will never be crowded. The menu offers quite interesting takes on seafood. The three types of ceviche (all a must!)—regular, green, and Aloha, with pineapple and coconut—all hit the spot if you’re a connoisseur. Another favorite is the Chino taco, a panko-crusted fish straight from the sea is flaky inside and out. All of this paired with a chilled beer, a ginger lemonade, or a tamarind margarita.

Café Pez Gallo - Oh we're so happy that this place exists! If you want a good and memorable breakfast go here! Just one block before you arrive to Drunker Sailor, you will find this tiny and understated coffee house. It offers a limited but worthy menu. Among our favorites are the black (activated charcoal and mix of peppers) or red chilaquiles (turmeric and tomato) and the pancakes. Their coffee in any presentation, is delicious! Seating is limited so try to get there early or keep in mind that you may have to wait or share a table.

Ruba’s Bakery- If you are looking for a place for a tasty brunch after a long and fun night or just want to chill out in the afternoon, you would love Ruba’s. The bakery is located in a 1940 house, just a couple blocks away from the art district in San José. They bake sourdough, homemade artisan bread, and Mexican-style pastries daily, paired with fresh ground coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, which are sooo delicious! We recommend you: the tecolota in salsa verde, the vegan muffins, and please, try the conchitas (sweet bread). They also offer a variety of sandwiches, pizzas, and crafted beer. A little tip, on Sundays they have 2x1 mimosas, not a one-visit place!

Just in case you want to adventure further out from Cabo, Todos Santos is only 30-40 mins drive from either town and it can be a nice change of air. Food options here are, of course, more limited but you can find some delicious spots. Here are our faves!

Jazamango- An organic farm-to-table concept restaurant where you can walk the fields. Mostly al fresco seating which is one of the things we love in addition to eating their fresh local products along with their own organic greens and vegetables. They also have a small shop where you can find some local products for sale.

Compa Chava - Salvador, aka Chava, is the owner and cook of this very authentic seafood place. He is so creative with dishes and has a knack for flavor. He catches most of the fish himself, and the rest he buys from the other fishermen. Prepare to share drinks with him while he is cooking and telling you stories. The menu goes from seafood to fish tacos and our very favorite is the tuna sashimi and octopus tostadas which ingredients are so finely chopped that alone, make it a delight.

Beers and sodas are offered too.

The place is very simple, plastic tables, dirt floor under a palapa but you will spend a nice afternoon there for sure!
