As locals living in paradise, we have many friends and family visiting all year round. Sometimes they, just like you, have very little time to explore Cabo so our team has brainstorm together about the must-do activities while in Cabo. There are so many things to do so don't hold back, we're just sharing our top ten picks to make things easier for you and your guests!

Have fun!

  1. PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR
In Cabo San Lucas, La Marina comes alive at 7 p.m. with the best and most iconic discos, clubs, and cantinas. The toughest part will be choosing what kind of fantasy you want to live: Mexican, American, Italian, and Asian influences are all represented. Wear anything that makes you feel comfortable, specially shoes as you may want to go bar hopping and Cabo streets are not suitable for high-heels! Take it from former high-heel addicts that now can't live without our flats!
  2. TAKE A CRUISE AROUND LAND’S END (The Arch & Lovers Beach)
The 750-mile-long Baja California peninsula reaches its southernmost terminus at a half-mile headland at the tip of Cabo San Lucas. In addition to marking “Land’s End,” this promontory also serves as the symbolic demarcation point between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can enjoy remarkable views of Land’s End on nightly sunset cruises, but to get up-close-and-personal with iconic landmarks like El Arco—a spectacular arch-shaped granite monument—Pelican Rock, Neptune’s Finger, The Window to the Pacific, and gorgeous Lover’s and Divorce Beaches, take a water taxi (called a panga locally) or sign up for tandem kayak tours.
  3. TRY THE LOCAL FOOD
Mexican Chocolata Clam: This is a kind of clam that is prepared in a unique fashion. It is roasted on the stone bed and it is covered with rosemary that adds a special flavor to the clams.
Shrimp and Fish Tacos: Shrimp and fish tacos are known to be the classic meals of Cabo San Lucas. There is a wide range of local specified, special seasoning, and freshness of the catch that combine to make the tacos a memorable meal during your visit. Small pieces of shrimp and battered fish are placed on the corn tortilla with tasty coleslaw, salsa, and vegetables for some extra flavors.
Smoked Marlin: Marlin is the most common species that you will come across in this area, people here prepare in many different ways. Nonetheless, most of the time, it is shredded and smoked so that it is well-preserved. The meat is pretty delicious when served with cheese and vegetables on the corn tortilla.
Pitahaya: This is also called the dragon fruit. There is ample pitahaya because of the unique climate and flora of the area. It is used for making jellied candies, jams, crystallized pitahayas, and marzipan.
Famous Drinks: As per the tradition of Cabo San Lucas, the meal should accompany Clamato. This is a drink which is made from clam and tomato juice. Another well-known drink is Damiana liqueur. This is made from the plant with the same name and combined with cane alcohol, sugar, and water. It is usually prepared with indigenous Guaycura for various ceremonies. This is actually digestive liquor. As a matter of fact, it is also known to be a relaxing aphrodisiac.
  4. ENJOY SAN JOSE’S ART WALK ON THURSDAYS AND VIVA LA PLAZA IN SAN LUCAS ON FRIDAYS
The Thursday evening art walk is one of highlights of any visit to San José del Cabo and runs from 5-9 p.m. during high tourist season (November through June). The participating galleries are all clustered together in the city's historic Distrito del Arte (Art District), which is one of the reasons you should forget the guided tours and enjoy this weekly event at your own pace. Sip wine, sample cheese, wander the area's beautiful cobblestone streets and interact with some of the top artists and gallery owners in Baja California Sur.
“Viva La Plaza”, is a rejuvenation of Amelia Wilkes Plaza on Friday nights. The public square known as Amelia Wilkes Plaza in downtown Cabo San Lucas with its picturesque gazebo and gardens, is under revitalization and is the site for weekly art and cultural events under the designation of “Viva la Plaza!”
The event takes place every Friday evening, 5 p.m.–9 p.m., and includes vintage crafts, gastronomy, and pieces by Mexican artisans. The park encompasses a city block and is bounded by Lazaro Cardenas, Miguel Hidalgo, Francisco Madero, and Avenue Cabo San Lucas. The Viva La Plaza event can become the new Cabo San Lucas “Art Walk.
  5. SINK YOUR TOES IN WONDERFUL BEACHES
Check out our Beach guide for specific details. But for example, Playa Santa María is not quite as popular as Tourist Corridor neighbor Playa Chileno, but this exquisitely lovely horseshoe-shaped beach is definitely worth a visit. The protected bay includes a marine sanctuary, and there is a colorful array of marine life visible here. That's one of the reasons the bay is included on so many Cabo San Lucas dive and snorkel tours.
As one might imagine, Chileno Beach is quite popular, particularly on weekends during the high season. Shade is provided by palapas or rental umbrellas, and some water-based activities rentals are also available. The snorkeling is very good, and many charter companies from Cabo San Lucas offer tours to Chileno Bay, including Tropicat, Cabomar, Caborey, EcoCat, Cabo Wave, and Sun Rider just to name a few. There is plenty of parking and most basic services, including handicap access.
  6. WHALE WATCHING
Whale Watching season in Los Cabos traditionally stretches from mid-December through mid-April and sees an estimated 10,000 whales migrate south to breeding grounds at Magdalena Bay and in the Sea of Cortés. Grays and humpbacks are the most commonly sighted, but lucky visitors can occasionally see blue, sperm, fin, and pilot whales, as well as the occasional orca. The annual migration is big business locally, and virtually every local tour boat offers seasonal whale watching excursions.
  7. WALK DOWN THE MARINA AT CABO SAN LUCAS
La Marina, Cabo’s most iconic neighborhood, is full of seafood restaurants and cantina bars surrounded by fancy boats. This is the second most expensive Marina in the world, can you guess which is the #1? Ask your planner about it! The area is full of artistic expressions, from street performers to costumed pirates who love to interact with visitors. If you are lucky, you will see some sea lions swimming around looking for fisherman’s leftovers.
  8. BUY SOUVENIRS AT A LOCAL STORE
Treasure hunting in Cabo San Lucas! Arrived and entered the fantasy world at La Coyota. This place was a beautiful old colonial-style hacienda, with each room containing different themes and every conceivable surface is shoppable. You could easily spend hours there going through all the incredible Mexican crafts and ceramics around the house, and find hard time deciding which one to take home!
Artesanos is a two-story building loaded with handicrafts from all over México and Indonesia. They have all sorts of neat stuff to sort through. If you like to shop this place might interest you. It is located on the service road alongside the corridor road. Open 9 am to 2 pm Monday thru Saturday.
  9. SPEND A DAY AT “EL MEDANO BEACH”
Playa El Médano is ground zero for the Spring Break madness in March, and remains busy throughout the year. In many ways, it's the center of social life in Cabo San Lucas. The beach is huge, about two miles long, and filled with restaurants, bars, souvenirs vendors, and water-based activities rentals. You can rent wave runners, kayaks, go parasailing, have a water taxi take you out to Land's End or Lover's Beach, or drop you off back at the marina. The water is extremely calm here, and although you won't find any lifeguards in Cabo San Lucas, areas are roped off for swimming.
  10. A DAY TRIP TO TODOS SANTOS, Pueblo Mágico
The town of Todos Santos, with its rustic granite streets and multi-colored stained buildings with green cactus, family gardens, and sea flavors, is set deep in the desert with a view of the Pacific Ocean on the horizon. Discover an oasis of green fields and fruit trees almost as easily as you can enjoy the dazzling galleries and works of art by the many artists who call this town home and display their talent thanks to the unbeatable climate.
For years, day-trippers coming from Los Cabos to Todos Santos have flocked to the Hotel California, hoping to see “mirrors on the ceilings and pink champagne on ice.”
The traditions of this "Magical Town" have stood the test of time; come and experience them as you relax with hot stones from the sea. Less than an hour’s drive from Cabo San Lucas, it’s a must-visit for day trippers and destination surfers.
